88' Supra MKIII (MA70) swap

sorry if this is a dumb question to any of you...

i know the 88`Toyota Supra MA70 came with the 7M-GTE engine here in america, and i was wondering if it was possible to swap the 1JZ-GTE engine from the 90'-93 MA70 into the 88' supra

RE:

Very common. You can ask Coiloverkid, I know he did the full swap.

If you plan on doing the swap go for a second gen 1JZ-GTE. Toyota had the first gen 1JZ recalled kept blowing the turbo's.

You can swap the motor into an 88+ supra any chassis under 88+ needs to be swap'd to fit ( 88+ on ). Why? the motor sits off balance with older cross members. You also need 2jz powersteering lines and 2jz throttle cable in order for this to work correctly.
