This is a discussion on Turbo Charging 4age? within the TECH Discussion Forum forums, part of the TECH Discussion category; is there any kits and is it really worth it? How much power is that engine able to push?...

It seems to be fairly common, about 200bhp is apparently a ballpark figure for a fairly reliable build, using a 4A-GZE base as it's built for boost. I think HKS used to do a kit a while ago, but it's been out of production for a while, like their '5A' kit. For the most powerful turbo A-series', I've heard of custom-built 20-valve 7A-GZTEs pushing about 450bhp, but they're just mental (and VERY costly).

one issue with boosting the corolla, the chassis has a problem with all that power, as does the tranny and rear end. you will probably fry those before the engine.

tid bit of info, the 4agze can handle about 300 hp at the mid 10z psi on the stock block (better intercooler would help too of course)
