Chassis Reinforcement

Something caught my eye the other day when I was under my s13 the other day. I notice some pretty bad rust causing a tennis ball-sized hole on both sides of the frame rail, just behind the tire.

I guess I'm gonna jack it up, grind down the old rust, and weld a dog plate or some other type of patch to make sure it can stand up. I had a few concerns though:

While I'm up there do you think I should do any other welding? This would be as good of time as any.

Is this patch idea the best right now? any better ideas?

Thanks for the help guys.
