FD build up- almost done, but would like some suggestions

Ok, I have been building up my FD over the winter and am going to use 2005 to test it out and finish up the small stuff. I have most of the major stuff done but would like some suggestions on what else can be done. The problem is that I havent had a chance to talk to anyone who has a professionally set up car to find out some small stuff to do to get it right. Any suggestions would be great.
Sixgun- yes yes, I know lol.

1995 Mazda RX-7 touring
Engine- mazda reman installed on 11/04
Power and Drivetrain- BNR Stage III twins, ACT street strip clutch with extreme plate, SR Motorsports DP, HKS RS Intake, Greddy Profec B SpecII boost controller, Apex'i Power FC, Greddy SP exhaust, Bonez Midpipe, 1300 CC secondaires, Supra fuel pump, underdrive water pump and alt pullies

Suspension and Wheels- JIC FLT-A2 coilovers, JIC front strut tower par, JIC rear strut tower bar, Work Rezax wheels (18x8.5 F, 18x9.5 R), Falken Zeix tires (225/40/18 front, 265/35/18 rear) but I am thinking of using stockers for runs.

Cooling- Greddy 2 Row 24V FMIC, Koyo radiator, Pettit AST

Interior- JIC racing bucket seat, Momo chapion steering wheel, B&M short throw, and Razo 480g knob.

Future plans for the year- vented hood (either scoot or knightsports), water injection kit (dual stage), and possibly the KDR anti-det mod {this mod removes the trailing plugs and uses the trailing coils to boost the leading so that you are not firing near the apex seals}

Any ideas on some other ways to keep the car cool, tweeks on the suspension, and some other parts out there that I may not have found would be great. Thanks!

I know the Apex'i D1 did that. How would that effect street driving?

the one thing i have heard about the fd's is that they are notoriously hard to keep cool. A vented hood would help some in that. especially with the upgraded turbos. a rollcage would add some rigidity. other than that, i'd say drive it and see what ya need. got any pics?

I will not be learning on this car... best way to say it is "learning the car"

trust me, vented hood is on the way.

Wayne- good to hear. It is not my daily driver by far but I would like to be able to continue to drive it on the roads. I will talk to the local shops about the feasibility of this. The good thing is that we have a ton of rotary shops in the DC Metro area.

Wayne- got your pm, thanks

it all depends... the maximum backspace on a stock car is like 6 inches and frontspace is around 3 inches. The offsets can get nuts though. I have seen 12 inch rears with a 5 1/2 inch lip. Im not going to be using those wheels for runs though because its alot easier to find tires for my stockers and I can get the wheels for less than 100 a pop... oh yeah, and they are light

btw- thanks to whomever edited my thread title... kind of missed that i

A water injection kit never hurt either... the test mule for one of the kits saw below ambient intake temps under full throttle on an 80F day (I think he was showing 60F). Personally I thin WI is the savior of any FI rotary

you talking about the CO2 sprays? those arent worth it in my opinion

www.coolingmist.com , The guy who designed the kit is a rotorhead and tested it extensively on his FD.

With the water injection you lower intake temps, steam clean your engine, and GREATLY reduce the risk of detonation. For 200-300 bucks I think its the best possible mod out there. Just dont tune for it, keep it as just a motor saver.

Alot of people tune their ecu's for WI for a power adder but I think rotaries shouldnt tune for it because if your nozzle clogs or you run dry you are f'd

GotNismo was reffering to cryo treatment of engine parts. su_maverick is talking about an injection system to introduce water, in this case, into the intake track, usually close to the intake ports to cool the intake charge to make safer power. It is the same principal behind intercoolers, just a different approach. I think they are really good ideas and water is readily available for refilling it often. I want to install an alcohol injection kit on my FC to see what its all about. I have run alcohol systems alone on rotaries, but never just injecting it over gas. I think it would work even better, but you can't exactly pick it up at the local 7-11 I plan to hook mine up to my Haltech so when the temp reaches a certain setting, the kit comes online. The water injection setup would work really well setup the same way as well.
