Turbo busted?
hey guys
just got me a 1991 200sx!!!! SO F**** EXCITED!!!! anyhoo. heres the scenario. Car has NO boost, running like an aeshmatic 1300. opened one of the induction pipes and no air, no noise. No sounds from the turbo. Also the actuator lever doesnt move when I rev. Q) Is the turbo seized? Q2) Is the engine getting damaged when driving like this? Ive got a spare turbo so no train smash, but I need to know asap. |

This car is equipped with a turbo, right?
Maybe it has no turbine in it, or your turbine axle is dislodged/broken. You will probably only hurt the car if parts start breaking off and get sucked into your motor. Otherwise, you're getting all the exhaust resistance of a turbo with no benefit! |

I think u might be on to something. The car has NO boost. 3500 on a straight road is what im pretty much stuck with. I think the turbo oil feed might have caused the problem??!?!? The previous owner hardly serviced this engine and turbo. Ive got a spare, but need to check the condition first. |
