red top/ black top question

ive searched everywhere and read everything i can find and still cant find the answer. from what ive read the red top and black top sr have the same power, but the black top is more expensive. what is special about the red top and black top that would make a person buy one or the other? and why is the black top more expensive? and any other info would be nice. thanx in advance

the s13 blacktop is more expensive just because its newer than the s13 redtop.The s14 blacktop has a bigger turbo,variable valve timing, better coolant passages i think.Im 98% sure about this issue.
