YDD Coilover Install
Today Team Young Dong had a chance to tackle it's first project as a team: installing coilovers. We took some pictures and I just wanted to give noobs and enthusiasts alike a basic run down of how the install went.
First off: The car. My very own 1995 Nissan 240sx SE Last edited by Weapon X; 03-08-2004 at 07:37 PM. |

We started by lifting the car and taking the wheels off. So it should look a little something like this. Grimy...

Then we got to work.
Front Stock shock and spring removal: Unbolt the two lower bolts holding the shock to the shock mount. |

Don't forget the brake line clip either, a pair of needle nose plyers should suffice.

Next, we removed the upper strut tower bolts.

Then, we put the front coilover in place and reveresed our steps. I dont know about most manufacturers, but on the JICs they are labeled FR for front right, and RL for real left, and so on and so forth...so make sure you pay attention that.

Then, we tightened the spring seat using tools provided with the coilover (these claw looking things).

Now it's time for the rears. The first step was to fold down the rear seat and remove the speaker cover panel.

Then removed the rear balljoint nut that held the lower shock in place.

When everything was installed correctly, we put the wheel back on and torqued the lug nuts to 85 ft lbs.

Then we checked the ride height, made slight adjustments, and used the tool provided to dial in the dampening settings.

We have the last set in the USA. MSRP is 1230, our price for drifting.com is 1150. If you find it for cheaper, they wont be able to get it. Cordes knows how long these took get. GREAT COILOVERS.
