Smogging an SR in CA?

With the shortage of affordable low mileage S14s, it's looking like an SR swap makes sense.

But I know there are some issues getting one smogged (mostly with the visual inspection). Can somebody give me some info on what to do to get the car through the inspection so I can register and insure it?

I realize that the solution might be something that can't really be discussed in the open on the forum. In that case, can somebody PM me with info about this?

Don't you have to live in Nevada to register a car there?

Well, then, how about a CA18 swap into a 240 Fastback? Shouldn't that be less of a problem, as the CA18DET was available on the S12?

Lightbulb ?

To my knowledge the s12 never came with a ca18det in the US.
But it did come with a Ca18et.
