AmsOIL 75-90 gear lube
Greetings,
I'm about to change the fluids in my '91 240 and i was about to buy the Royal Purple 80-95 gear lube, but its hard to come by here in ohio and its expensive. My friend reffered me to AmsOIL, but the problem is i'm running 80-90 in my car now and this AmsOIL is 75-90 and synthetic. I'm not exactley sure what i can get away with in reguards to the thickness. I was going to try 2qts of the AmsOIL 75-90 and a quart of Lucas transmission lube. My trans has about 80k on it. If anyone knows more about the numbers and the thickness of these gear lubes please let me know if i'll be alright putting the AmsOIL in my car even tho i should be running 80-95. The guy in the Andersons automotive department said that AmsOIL is versatile enough that i can get away with it but i'm not so sure i can totally trust him. Any comments or knowledge?? Thank you AJB
