I was just wondering If you need AIV system on the SR when you swap it? Does it do anything?

It goes in the trash. You don't need it, it won't fit either. It'll hit the steering column if you want to know why it wont. What it does is inject air into the catalytic converter when idling to keep the cat happy with a good flow of air to break down the crap your motor's spitting out.
