defog problem

I just found a slight problem in my Blazer, while i was driving around.
it was raining so I turned on the defog and suddenly a bunch of steam or smoke poored into the cab. It smelt of coolant so im guessing the heater core is cracked or somthing. there is no smoke under the hood so i dont think its just venting in from the engine bay.
anyway do any of you know what may be the problem I just want a second oppinion before i start takin things apart. im sure ill be able to see the problem I just want to make sure im lookin in the right spot.
thnx for any help.

Look for where it's leaking. Poke around, feel around for wetness.
