Yes, another way to increase power is to reduce the temperature of the charged air. A larger aftermarket intercooler on stock turbo varies on HP increases.

Sure, but remember that the bigger capacity of piping and cooler is, the longer time it takes for the turbo to regain speed. The lag might be slightly bigger, but I guess that when you'll have your car mapped and the boost pressure increased, then it won't be that bad.
